Gunter Damisch: One Artist – Three Topics
Expressively colourful tattered snakes meander through space that has been condensed by shapes reminiscent of the variety of flagellate. The sculptures change between vegetable and cosmological forms. This is often anticipated in the drawings and, in turn, extends into the dimension of colour in the paintings. The title of the third volume Skulpturzeichen (“Sculpture Signs”) refers to the close connection between Gunter Damisch’s drawings and sculptures, which nevertheless can be understood in their own right.
