Kurt Dornig – Summer
Inspired by the pioneer of cyanotiype printing, Anna Atkins (1799–1871), whose botanical photograms combinend scientific precesion and aesthetic beauty in the 19th century, Dornig allows light itself to become the designer. With a playful approach and an unconventional choice of materials—wires, buttons, bottle brushes, and plastic parts—Dornig creates abstract flower meadows and delicate reed beds. The sun becomes the creative force, bathing his compositions in intensive shades of blue. The result is a series of unique pieces, each characterized by the individual intensity of the light and the materiality of the paper.
